Ivele Geneva “Neve” Morgan age 82 of Dayton passed away at her daughter’s home on January 11, 2011 with her family by her side after a long battle with cancer. She was born on December 23, 1928 in Dayton to the late Joseph and Della Potter. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Clara Wilson, her son Robert J. Morgan and her grandson Charles J. Dyer.
Neve worked all of her life, moving north in the early 50’s for employment in Michigan’s automobile industry. Years later she returned to Dayton where she worked at Robinson Manufacturing and later retired from La-Z-Boy. Neve was an active member of the Spivey Memorial United Methodist Church. She loved gospel music and before her illness she could always be found at the Thursday night McDonald singings.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by her daughter, Patty (Don) Dyer, daughter-in-law, Dawn (Tom) Hudlow, sisters, Wanda Yother, Betty Woodard and Thelma Davault, brothers, Julian (Faye) Potter, Carlos (Marcella) Potter and Philip (Loretta) Potter, brother-in-law, J. B. Wilson, grandchildren, Matthew (Rachel) Dyer, Lindsey (Jeremiah) McGee, Andrew Morgan, and one great-grandchild, Avery McGee. She will also be missed by her special caretaker and friend, Carol Reeves Suttles.
Funeral services for Neve will be held Friday morning at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel with her pastor, Rev. Bill Ewing officiating. Burial will follow in the Spivey Cemetery.
