Iva Mae Ellis

February 28, 1929 — September 30, 2020

Iva Mae Ellis, age 91 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday evening, September 30, 2020 at her home. She was born in Rhea Springs on February 28, 1929, the daughter of the late William and Minnie (Miller) Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Ellis, Sr.

Iva lived in Dayton most of her life. She retired from Kayser Roth as a supervisor over long fold. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Dayton.

She is survived by her sons, Gary (Connie) Ellis of Allegan, MI and William (Tina) Ellis, II of Dayton; her daughter, Debi Ellis of Dayton; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services for Iva will be held Friday, October 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Buttram Cemetery with Rev. Brian Conley officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Bill followed by a white dove release.
