Irene Nelson

Irene Nelson, age 88 of Hixson, died Thursday afternoon November 14, 2013 at Memorial North Park Hospital. She was born March 28, 1925 in Spring City to the late John H. A. Smith and Eliza (Fisher) Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband Rolland Q. Nelson, son Bobby Nelson, daughter Wilma Dillard, sister Mary Harris and brother Kenneth Smith.
Margaret lived in Spring City until 1934 then resided in the Hixson/Soddy-Daisy area since 1970.
She is survived by her son Elzie (Rose Marie) Nelson of Hixson and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Chattanooga on Saturday.
