Iola Pauline Baker

June 13, 1912 — April 15, 2006

Iola Pauline Baker, age 93 of Spring City died Saturday, april 15, 2006 in a Rhea County nursing home. Iola was born in Alpha, Saskatchewan, Canada on June 13, 1912, the daughter of the late Edward and Olive (Smelker) Baker.

Iola attended Denver Bible Institute, New York Bible Institute, and studied French in Belgium before receiving her degree from Toccoa Bible College. Iola was a missionary to women in Belgium Congo in Africa for 20 years and then for 9 years she was a missionary in Grenada West Indies. Iola was also a charter counselor at Cedine Bible Mission in Spring City.

Iola is survived by her twin sister, Ruth Zimmerman of Cedine and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Iola will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00pm in the Cedine Jubilee Center with her nephews, Rev. Dwight Zimmerman and Rev. Steve Zimmerman officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedine Cemetery.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Monday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
