Ida Evelyn Wellman, age 90, of Dayton entered into rest early Wednesday morning, July 09, 2014 at her home. She was born on March 17, 1924 in Loma Linda, CA to the late Elwin Lester and Ida (Vandilla) Knecht. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry “Lee” Wellman.
A resident of the Laurelbrook Community since 1964, Evelyn was a former treasurer for Laurelbrook Sanitarium and School. She was a member of Laurelbrook Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Evelyn is survived by her two sons, Kevin (Connie) Wellman of Dunlap and Keith (Barbara) Wellman of Dayton Mountain; one daughter, Glenda (Barry) Schroeder of Signal Mountain; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Evelyn will be held Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Laurelbrook chapel with Pastor Paul Eirich, Pastor Corbin Pitman, Pastor David Wendt and Mr. Bob Zollinger officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Laurelbrook Cemetery.
