Hubert Donald “Ducky” Keith, age 66 of Dayton, went to be with the Lord on Monday afternoon, April 18, 2011 at his home. He was born June 9, 1944 in Graham County, NC to the late Hubert and Irene (Wycoff) Keith and also preceded in death by his niece Karen Keith.
Ducky lived most of his life in Rhea County and was a member of the Pitts Gap Church of God. He was employed by Collin and Hobbs for many years and then with TVA for 21 years. He was a master carpenter, a general contractor, a certified locksmith and a certified welder. He had a degree in ministry and had mastered his CDA college degree in childcare through the state of Tennessee. He and his wife Fran own and operate the ABC Daycare in Dayton.
Ducky is survived by his wife Fran (Clark) Keith, sons Tracy (Lorie) Keith of GA, Jeff (Jill) Keith of Knoxville, daughters Teresa Kiest of FL and Carmen Keith of Chattanooga, brothers Bill (Barb) Keith of SC, Rev. Ken (Amy) Keith and Bob Keith both of Dayton, sisters Sherry Olinger of GA, Darlene (Garland) Morgan and Deb Self both of Dayton and eight grandchildren, Brody Keith, Ansley and Reagan Keith, Patrick Caraway, Brandon Houston, Kara Freeman and Hailey and Jacob Donahue.
Funeral services for Ducky will be held Wednesday afternoon at 5:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ken Keith and Rev. George Morgan officiating. Music will be provided by Ashley Cox, Bo Boutwell and Tyler Clark. Pallbearers will be Preston Hale, Patrick Caraway, Brandon Houston, Ace Olinger, Brett Keith, Billy Keith, Chris Keith, Tony Moore and Matt Tucker. He will be laid to rest in the Morgan Springs Cemetery on Dayton Mountain Thursday morning at 11:00am.
