Howard Clifton DeArk age 83 of Dayton died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga. He was born June 9, 1922 in Utica, IN. the son of the late Charles Roy and Margaret (Colvin) DeArk. He was also preceded in death by his wife Barbara (Cobb) DeArk.
Howard served his country during WWII with the Army Air Corp. and retired from GM in Pontiac, MI. after 30 years as a sanitation engineer. He was a longtime member of the SOCUM Club. Howard moved to Dayton in 1982 where he was a member of the Ogden Road Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine Carlson of Benton Harbor, MI., four sons,
Gilbert DeArk of Hickory, NC., James DeArk of Calhoun, GA., John DeArk of Oklahoma City, OK. and Richard DeArk of Great Britain, fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm Saturday in the Ogden Road Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Larry Owens officiating. Burial will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
