Hazel Winifred Grant age 87 of Dayton died Tuesday January 3, 2006 in Rhea Medical Center. She was born August 9, 1918 in Swain County,NC.,the daughter of the late James and Emma (Baines) Sherrill.

Hazel lived in Dayton since 1963 where she was a homemaker and was a member of Delashmitt Road Baptist Church in Chattanooga.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Rev. James Judd Grant of Dayton, three sons, Rev. C. Richard Grant of Lenoir City, James L. (Pat) Grant of Philadelphia, TN. and Douglas D. (Janet) Grant of Grandview, three daughters Margaret (Ronald) Way of Evensville, Wanda (Roy) Kelley of Dayton and Pam (Jim) Montgomery of Dayton, one sister, Patsy Crisp (Brent) Thomas of Bryson City, NC, eighteen grandchildren, thirty- three great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Hazel will be held Friday at 1pm in the funeral home chapel with
Rev. Ronnie M. Smith and Rev. Danny Sweet officiating. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release.

The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Thursday 4-9pm.
