Glenn Barnett Rigsby age 85 of Pikeville died Wednesday April 4, 2007 in Bledsoe County Nursing Home. He was born in Bledsoe County, September 3, 1921 the son of the late William and Ada (Narramore) Rigsby. He was also preceded in death by his wife
Mattie (Yates) Rigsby, two daughters, Elizabeth and Patricia Rigsby, sistes, Nellie Ruth Wooden and Ava Lee Rigsby, brothers, Berness and Alvin Rigsby.
Glenn lived in Bledsoe County all his life where he was a farmer. He served his country with the US Army in the South Pacific during WWII and he was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his daughters, Ada Mae Carlton of Pikeville, Marcella Jones of Anchorage, AK; Debbie McCullough and Vera LeBeau, both of Pikeville, his son,
Raymond Russell of Dayton, ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Glenn will be held Saturday at 4pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carl Vaughn officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in French Cemetery in Dayton followed by a white dove release.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Friday 2-8pm
