Glenn Thomas Linebaugh, age 80 of Dayton, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Life Care of Rhea County in Dayton. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on December 8, 1945, the son of the late Ralph and Lucy (Haines) Linebaugh. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Alona Linebaugh; his brothers, Rev. Dale Linebaugh, Gary Linebaugh, and Skip Linebaugh; and his sisters, Betty Linebaugh and Janet Linebaugh.
Glenn has called Dayton home since 1972. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bryan College and his master’s degree from Tennessee Tech before dedicating 40 years to shaping young minds as a schoolteacher in the Crossville School system. A proud veteran, Glenn served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army in Germany. He was a faithful member of Grace Bible Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Linebaugh of Dayton; his son, Robert (Molly) Linebaugh of Binghamton, NY; his stepchildren, Bonnie (Larry) Jackson of Spring City, Robin (Brian) Jones of Dayton, and Sherry (Danny) Burgess of Jasper, GA; his sisters, Susan Linebaugh and Laura Lee Linebaugh, both of Sarasota, FL; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Glenn will be at Grace Bible Church in Dayton on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with his pastor, Rev. Jim Woychuk officiating, followed by U.S. Army Honors. He will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. He will be laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
