Glenn Sherrill Capps age 82 of Milton, Florida died Wednesday, December 06, 2006 in a Pensacola, FL. assisted living home. He was born March 18, 1924 in Sale Creek the son of the late James and Mable (Nelson) Capps and was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Irene (Garner) Capps and his son Paul Link.
He served his country with the US Navy during WWII and was a survivor of the Yorktown in the Battle of Midway. Glenn was raised in Dayton and lived in East Ridge, TN until moving to Milton, FL in 1983. He retired from the Lookout Mtn. Post Office after 30 years and was of the Baptist faith.
Glenn is survived by his sons, James Link of Pensacola, Fl., Lee Link and Robert Link both of Milton, FL. and Larry Link of Geneva, FL., fifteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, his brother, Thomas Capps of Dayton, sister-in-law, Wilma Capps of Dayton, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 3pm in Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Chattanooga with Rev. Barry Purser officiating followed by full military honors.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Monday 12noon until 2pm.
