Rev. Glen Herbert Liebig, age 99 of Dayton, passed away at his home on Monday, July 14, 2025. He was born on December 29, 1925, in Cambridge, New York, the son of the late F. Walter Liebig and Cora M. (Burch) Liebig.
Glen graduated from Granville High School, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Barrington College, and received a Master’s degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He was a radio engineer, a missionary to Guatemala, a Professor of Spanish and Missions at Bryan College, and then was Dean of Missions at Bryan College. His heart was for missions, and he was active with the Hispanic community. He served his country in the US Navy, lived in Dayton since 1964, and was a member of Dayton First Baptist Church.
Glen is survived by his wife of 74 years, Mary (Cook) Liebig of Dayton; his son, Richard (Janet) Liebig of Dayton; his daughters, Linda (Mark) Smith of Tullahoma and Elizabeth (Greg) Pitts and Susan McUmber, both of Chattanooga; his sister Alice (Rolland) Veilleux of Miami, Florida; his brother, Robert (Barbara) Liebig of Hartford, New York; his grandchildren, Laura Miller, Joshua McUmber, David Pitts, and Maegan McUmber; and his seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services with military honors for Glen will be in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Milton Knox and Rev. Barry Walls officiating. He will be laid to rest at Rhea Memory Gardens after the service.
