Geraldean Lema “Sis” Woody, age 84, of Dayton, passed away late Saturday evening, August 24, 2019 at Memorial Northpark in Chattanooga. She was born on October 16, 1934 in Rhea County, the daughter of the late Andrew and Sarah (Profitt) Stinnett. Geraldean was also preceded in death by her husband, Gary Gilbert Woody; her brothers and sisters, Dixie Brooks, Cleo Brooks, Albert Stinnett, Jake Stinnett, Arthur Stinnett, Earnest Stinnett, Johnny Stinnett, Jimmy Stinnett, Junior Stinnett, Doyle Stinnett and William Stinnett.
Sis lived in Dayton all of her life. She was employed at Gholdston Basket Factory and several area hosiery mills. Sis enjoyed puzzle books. She was a member of the Garrison Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and a Bible school teacher.
She was survived by her nieces and nephews and many friends, and her special niece Kayla Adams.
Funeral services for Sis will be held Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Breeden officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Gary in Montgomery Cemetery in Dayton.
