Frieda Mae Curtin, age 80 of Cookeville and formerly of Dayton died early Sunday morning, February 28, 2010 in Cumberland River Medical Center in Celina, TN. Frieda was born in Chattanooga on March 25, 1929 the daughter of the late Ed and Sally (Wilson) Abbott and was also preceded in death by her husband Luia Curtin and her daughter Joy Causby.
Frieda was a long time resident of Dayton and had lived in Cookeville for the past ten years. While in Cookeville she was active with the Senior Center and in Dayton she was a member of the Dayton Church of God of Prophecy.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra McClain of Lenoir, NC and Wendy Faircloth of Cookeville; her sister, Clarine Goins of Ringgold, GA and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Frieda will be held Tuesday evening at 6:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob Carroll officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Dayton City Cemetery.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
