Floyd Alfred Kelley, age 74 of Dayton passed away Monday, November 17, 2008 at the Rhea County Nursing Home. He was born in Dayton on February 18, 1934, the son of the late Floyd and Artie (Housley) Kelley.
Floyd was a graduate of Rhea Central High School and Bryan College in Dayton. He retired as a math and science teacher from Dayton City and Rhea County Schools. Floyd enjoyed gardening, reading and playing the guitar and was of the Methodist faith.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carol (Francisco) Kelley, daughter Sally (Steve) Abercrombie of Ringgold, GA, sisters Frances Colbaugh of OK, Barbara Roberts of Dayton and Wilma Watson of Spring City, and two grandchildren, Will and Wagner Abercrombie of Ringgold, GA.
Funeral services for Floyd will be held Thursday evening, November 20, at 6:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Terril Littrell and Mr. Stanley Montgomery officiating.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 pm until the service.
