Eunice Thompson Acuff, age 94, passed away Friday morning, August 10, 2012 in Chattanooga. She was born November 18, 1917 in Black Oak, AR to the late Alfred Lee and Fannie Mae (Caldwell) Thompson. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Vernon Cowart, E. B. Skates and Alvin Acuff, son Richard Cowart and step-daughter Betty Stone.
She is survived by her son Gene (Janet) Skates of Kingsport, daughter Nancy Skates of Ooltewah, brother John Caldwell of Alpharetta, GA, daughter-in-law Norma Cowart of Brentwood, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for Sunday at 2:30 pm at the Green’s Lake Road Church of Christ. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Private interment will be in the Lakewood Memory Gardens, Green’s Lake Rd. on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Martin Boyd Christian Home Endowment Fund in Chattanooga.
