Ernest Gilbert Johnson, age 76, of Dayton, TN died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton. Ernest was born September 17, 1932 in LaCebia, Honduras, the son of the late Ernest Llewelyn and Edna (Green) Johnson. Ernest was also preceded in death by his wife Sentia (Gale) Johnson and brother Ulric Johnson.
Ernest was a tailor and suit maker in Honduras before coming to the U.S.A. in 1960. He was a dietician assistant in New York for many years before coming to Dayton in 1994. He was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.
Ernest is survived by his daughters Myrna Bell and Aida Johnson, both of Huntsville, AL, and Heather (Marlon) James and Sharon Johnson both of New Market, AL, son Lindon Johnson of Frederic, MD, grandsons, Nicole and Marlon Jr. James of New Market, AL, and brothers Ulitt Johnson and Lawrence Johnson, both of Long Island, NY.
Graveside services for Ernest will be held Sunday, November 16 at 11:00 am at the Laurelbrook Cemetery.
