Ella Holyfield, age 93 of Dayton, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in Chattanooga. She was born on December 7, 1918 in Dickenson County, VA, to the late Morgan and Phoebe (Counts) Sutherland. She was also preceded in death by her husband Wilburn L. Holyfield.
A resident of Dayton since 2001, she was a homemaker and loved gardening and her family. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her son Ron (Kay) Holyfield and daughter Darla Gail Holyfield, all of Dayton, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Center Cemetery in Cumberland Court House, VA, where she will be laid next to her husband.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton.
