Edwin Rucker Payne

Edwin Rucker Payne, age 97, of Dayton, TN and formerly of Richmond, VA, died Friday morning July 19, 2013 in Harrison, TN. He was born January 31, 1916 in Richmond, VA to the late John Ernest and Lucy Rebecca (Best) Payne. He was also preceded in death by his wife Erma (Moran) Payne.
Edwin served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Army. While living in Richmond, he was employed with Blue Cross Blue Shield as a bookkeeper.
A resident of Dayton for the past six years, he attended Spivey Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a Mason and he loved fishing.
He is survived by his sister Joyce Baker of Dayton, TN and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services with military honors will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Ewing officiating.
A graveside service will be held in Richmond, VA Tuesday morning at 10:00 am at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Sunday before the service.
