Edward Rock

Edward Allen Rock, age 78 of Dayton, TN died Saturday, November 30, 2007 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. Ed was born in Troy, MI the son of the late Herbert and Jessie (Mahaffey) Rock. He lived in Troy until 1985 where he retired as Vice-President of Comerica Bank. While living in Troy, Ed was a member of the Troy Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and minister of music. In 2002 Ed moved to Dayton, TN where he was a member of the New Union Baptist Church.

Ed is survived by his wife, Frances (Cloninger) Rock of Dayton, his children, Janet Miller of Troy, MI, Linda Hamilton of Lake Orion, MI, Kathy Ruggiero of Sebring, FL, David Rock of Sylvania, OH, Chris Morgan of SC, Judy Bennett of TX, Bobi Vieira and Robert Benson both of CA. He is also survived by his sister Irene Heiber of MI and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Rock will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel with his pastors, Dr. Danny Ruehling and Rev. David Andersen officiating.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, TN where they will receive friends Sunday after 1:00pm.
