Edith Few Green, age 93 of Dayton died Thursday morning in Dayton. She was born in Greeneville County, SC on May 21, 1921 to the late George Washington “GW” Few and Lura Mabel (Ferguson) Few. She was also preceded in death by her former husbands, Delvin Pharis Kennedy and Harris Green, her son Delvin Pharis Kennedy II, her brother, Harold Few and sisters, Geraldine Kirkpatrick and Dorothy Lynn.
Edith had been a resident of Dayton for the past forty years, moving to Dayton from Bledsoe County. She was a graduate of the Greeneville County, (SC) High School and had been employed as a seamstress for area textile mills for many years. She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her two daughters, Wanda K. Travis of Dayton and Mabel (Luther Ray) Pendergrass of Evensville, seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Edith will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Leroy Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release.
