Edena Abel

Edena Morgan Abel, age 79 of Dayton passed away peacefully at her home, Friday, August 22, 2008 while surrounded by her family and close friends.

Edena was born in Dayton on December 6, 1918 the daughter of the late Roy E. and Hazel (Vance) Morgan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles K. Abel.

She was a life long resident of Dayton and was a graduate of Rhea Central High School. She loved the outdoors and everything that nature offered. She was a member of the Dayton Garden Club, and gardening was one of her passions along with her love of animals. She was a former Girl Scout leader and a member of Vine Grove United Methodist Church.

Edena is survived by her daughter, Charlena and beloved son-in-law Jerry “Duke” Calbaugh of Dayton. She is also survived by her precious pets, Susie, Sammy and Traveler as well as her sister, Reba Moore of Dayton.

Edena was laid to rest next to her husband in Buttram Cemetery in Dayton.
