Edward “Eddie” Franklin Dowden of Dayton age 52 died Sunday August 6, 2006
in his home. He was born in Rhea County on August 5, 1954 the son of the late Edgar and Frankie (Arnold) Dowden.
He lived in Rhea County all his life where he was a Pawnbroker for Rhea County Pawn.
Eddie was a member of Dayton Church of God for 28 years.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 32 years Gladys (Thurman) Dowden, his son, Michael Dowden, his daughter, Patty (Cary) Cathey, grandson, Gabriel Cathey all of Dayton,
brothers, Carl and Larry Dowden of Rhea County, sisters, Dorothy Garland of Charlotte, NC. and Connie Dowden of Chattanooga, TN., several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Eddie will be held Tuesday at 3pm in the funeral home chapel
with Rev. Larry Eastman officiating. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Monday 5-9pm.
