Ruth Kantzer, Phd

Dr. Ruth Marie Kantzer, PhD, age 85 of Dayton, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Memorial in Chattanooga. She was born September 2, 1926 in Ashland, OH to the late Edwin and Clara (Sealer) Kantzer.
Dr. Kantzer received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Ashland College, her Masters in English from the University of Wisconsin and her PhD at the University of Iowa. She was a professor of English Literature and Fine Arts at Cedarville University in Cedarville, OH, Wheaton University in Wheaton, IL and Bryan College in Dayton, TN.
She was member of the Ogden Baptist Church where she was the pianist for 35 years and is survived by her nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday November 13th at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Hensley and Rev. Tim Wilkey officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday November 16th at 11:00 am at the Fairview Cemetery in Ashland County, OH.
