Malcolm Fary

Dr. Malcolm Irving Fary age 83 of Dayton went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday evening December 9, 2011 from his home while surrounded by his family. Malcolm was born on October 25, 1928 in Eatontown, NJ the son of the late Malcolm and Anna (Dean) Fary. He was also preceded in death by his son, Malcolm “Micky” Fary and brother, Roger Fary.
Dr. Fary was a graduate of Long Branch High School and earned his B.S. degree at Biola University and Barrington College. He then earned his M.A. at East Stroudsburg State and his Ed.D at Rutgers University. Malcolm served his country as a medic with the US Army during the Korean War. He retired as professor of Education and Philosophy at Bryan College in Dayton and he was a member and Elder Emeritus at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Malcolm is survived by his wife of 51 years, Lucia (Spencer) Fary of Dayton, his daughter, Karin (John) Carpenter of Dayton, two sons, Capt. Timothy (Sarah) Fary, of Ft. Benning, Columbus, GA and Daniel (Heidi) Fary of Chattanooga along with his seven grandchildren.
Funeral services for Dr. Fary will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30pm at Westminster Presbyterian Church with his son, Chaplain Timothy Fary and Pastor Carter Johnson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Westminster Presbyterian Church Cemetery with military honors.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Monday from 5:00pm until 7:30pm.
