Doyle Lee Montgomery

Doyle Lee Montgomery, age 79, of Dayton passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the Spring City Care & Rehabilitation Center. Doyle was born in Dayton on March 4, 1938 to the late Roscoe Lee and Wilma (Jordan) Montgomery. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Helen Montgomery and his son Mike Montgomery.
Doyle was a lifelong resident of Dayton and a long time Rhea County Commissioner. He was a graduate of the Rhea Central High School Class of 1956 and was a former school bus driver and former owner of the Power 66 Service Station in Dayton. He was retired from Polyloom and had been the owner of Doyle’s Auto Parts and Doyle’s Junk Yard & Wrecker Service.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Danny) Dunn of Dayton; sons, Jim (Pam) Montgomery of Dayton and Roy (Sabrina) Montgomery of Kingston; grandchildren: Laura Dunn Arnold of Rossville, GA, Michael Lee Montgomery and Ryan Lynn Montgomery, both of Dayton and his great-nephew, Jesse Patterson of Dayton; sister, Sandy Calbaugh of Dayton; brothers, Max (Faye) Montgomery of Hixson, Tommy (Carol) Montgomery and Eddy Montgomery, both of Dayton.
Funeral services for Doyle will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Ewing and Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife in Rhea Memory Gardens.
