Dortha “Dot” Ann (Jiles) Smith, of Evensville, Tennessee, passed away on September 27, 2026, at Life Care of Dayton. Dot was born on December 24, 1943, in Rhea County, Tennessee, to the late Roy Jiles and Nancy Alice (Powers) Jiles. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James “JC” Smith; her son, Anthony “Tony” Smith; and her siblings, Geneva (RC) Henderson, Fred (Donnis) Jiles, H.E. Jiles, Gene (Lifa) Jiles, Viola (Leon) Wilson, and infant sister, Barbara Ruth Jiles.

She had a caring and generous heart and was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church in Dayton, Tennessee, until her health no longer allowed her to attend. She loved the Lord dearly and loved serving her church.

She is survived by her great-niece, Megan (Josh) Land, and her very special great-great-niece, Hazel Grace Land. Hazel was the apple of Dot’s eye, and Dot loved her as a granddaughter.

A graveside service for Dot will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Smyrna Cemetery with her Pastor, Barry Walls, officiating. Dot will be remembered for her generous spirit, her love for the Lord, and the deep love she had for those closest to her.
