Dorothy Seera

January 16, 1921 — February 14, 2016

Dorothy Chrisfield Seera passed from this life and entered the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday afternoon, February 14, 2016 at Spring City Care & Rehab . Born January 16, 1921 in Johnson City, NY to the late Myron Ely and Lillian Williams Chrisfield, she was also predeceased by her husband, E. Walter Seera and her brother, Howard Chrisfield.

She graduated from Spencer NY High School and Lowell Business College. She held numerous bookkeeping and office assistant positions in Waverly, NY and the St. Petersburg, FL area where her family had moved in the 1950s. After moving to Dayton, TN in 1968, she worked in accounting at Bryan College. Dorothy is a member of Grace Bible Church.

Dorothy will be most remembered for living her Christian faith with amazing generosity and gracious hospitality to all, especially to dozens of Bryan College students spanning many years. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a “can do” work ethic that always served her well. Dorothy loved her Lord, her family, and all who called her “mom”.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Robert and Lillian Seera Andrews and David and Betty Ruth Seera, Dayton, TN; her grandchildren: Tyler and Stacie Siira, Chattanooga, Heidi and Shane Maxwell, Minneapolis, Travis Seera, Seattle; her great-grandchildren: Bjorn and Meghan Siira, Joshua, Bryce, Landon, Caleb, and Finnegan Maxwell; sister-in-law, Connie Chrisfield, Halsey Valley, NY and special niece and nephew, Cynthia Parcell, Townsend, TN and Tom Chrisfield, Halsey Valley, NY.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be held Tuesday afternoon at 5:00pm in the funeral home chapel with her pastors, Dr. Doug Russell and Rev. David Hobbs officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Rhea Memory Gardens.
