Donald Clayton Capps age 79 of Dayton died unexpectedly Saturday morning February 6, 2016. He was born in Coulterville on December 15, 1936 the son of the late James and Edith (Shirley) Capps. He was also preceded in death by his grandson Jeremy McRae and his sister Shirley Ricketts.
Don served his country with the US Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong resident of Coulterville and Dayton. He was the owner of Don’s Heating and Air for 50 years and Don’s Custom Cabinets for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Theresa (Thrasher) Capps of Dayton, his son Ronald (Debra) Capps of Evensville, five daughters, Kimberly (Chad) Lane, Terri (Danny) Sneed, Ladonna (Jeff) Pelfrey, Kelly Jo Caraway all of Dayton, Jennifer Capps of Chattanooga and step-daughter Kim McGuire of Deland, FL. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Clay Capps, Ryan (Crystal) Wilkey, David “Peeper” (Callie) Kite, Tiffany McRae, Corey (Ashley) Roberts, Tyler McRae, Bre Maginness, Ariel Roberts, Harley Maginness, Josh Pelfrey and Cody Pelfrey, his special great-grandson Layne Roberts along with twelve more great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Don will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Aaron Revis and Rev. Daryl Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens with military honors.
