Dickie Boyice Clevenger, age 72 of Dayton Mountain died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Rhea Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1945 in Webster Springs, West Virginia to the late Onie Earl and Maggie Gathel (Groves) Clevenger.
Dickie was raised in Webster Springs and attended Webster County High School. After moving to Dayton in 1974, he worked at Polyloom and Duracell and retired as maintenance supervisor.
He enjoyed bluegrass music, hunting, and refurbishing and rebuilding classic cars.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Jean (Longmire) Clevenger, four children; Julie (Jeff) Bouley of Robbinsville, NC; Vickie Cheek of Evensville; Kathy (James) Martin of Dayton and son Dickie “Jamie” Clevenger of Smithville; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers Lloyd (Mildred) Clevenger of Youngstown, OH and Ralph (Connie) Clevenger of Curtin, WV along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Dickie will be held Monday, March 20, 2017 at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ken Pierce officiating. He will be laid to rest at Ogden Cemetery on Dayton Mountain.
