Dennis Shahan

Dennis Shahan, age 57 of Birchwood died unexpectedly at his home August 12, 2008. Dennis was born in Bradley County on December 24, 1950, the son of the late Luke and Louise (Collins) Shahan. He was also preceded in death by his son, Christopher Zane Shahan and two brothers, L.J. and Zane Shahan.
Dennis retired from American Uniform as a mechanic. He was a member of the DAV and the NRA and was an avid deer hunter. Dennis served his country with the US Army in Viet Nam and was a 100% disabled veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Susan (Johnson) Shahan, his daughter, Jennifer (Scottie) Robinson, three grandchildren, Scottie, Brandon and Haley Robinson, three sisters, Billie (Ed) Miller, Donna Kidwell and Margie Foote all of Birchwood, four brothers, Pete Shahan of Cleveland, Tommy (Jean) Shahan of Jacksonville, AR and Brian (Angel) Shahan, Johnny (Dean) Shahan both of Birchwood.
Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday morning at 11:00am at McInturff Cemetery in Birchwood with Rev. Hank Pierce officiating.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Thursday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
