Dennis Clifton Lee, age 92 of Dayton, died Sunday April 26, 2015 at his home. He was born February 25, 1923 in Evensville to the late David and Grace (West) Lee. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances (Skillern) Lee, two brothers Roy Lee and Lawrence Lee, and two sisters Ruth Hixson and Geneva Falls.
Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a POW in Germany for eighteen months and three days before being liberated by Allied Forces. After the war, he worked many jobs including at Chris Craft and TVA. His last job was as a paper carrier for twenty years for the Chattanooga Times Free Press.
He is survived by his daughter Denise (Robert) Keltch of Dayton Mountain, two granddaughters Chelsea Keltch and Rylee Keltch and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Dennis will be held Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Danny Ruehling officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Pleasantview Cemetery in Graysville with military honors.
The family would like to thank all of our friends at The Courtyard who lovingly took care of him including David Zopfi, Wilma, Nancy, Molly, Erica, Heather, Tammy, Lori, Joanna, Wendy, Brooke, Jessica, Wendy, Kay, Tabitha, and William. The family is being cared for by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
