Delia Frances Barley age 96 of Dayton, died Thursday, December 29, 2005 in Rhea Nursing Home. She was born April 22, 1909 in Campbell County, TN., the daughter of the late Samuel Pyer and Sarah (Lemarr) Young. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert R. Barley, two sons, Ray Barley and Jr. Barley, eight grandchildren, one sister and several brothers.
Delia lived in Dayton most of her life where she was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.
Delia is survived by her son, Phillip Gene(Lenora) Barley of Douglas, GA. her daughters,
Myrtle Hackler of Spring City, Carolyn (Joe) Morris of Kingston, GA., Joetta (Dewey) Gravett of Dayton and Billie (Jim) Mayberry of Dayton and one sister, Gertrude Wade of Indianapolis, IN., 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, one sister-in-law, Louise Barley.
Funeral services for Delia will be held Saturday at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with
Rev. Wilburn Hardyman and Rev. Dana Gravett officiating. Burial will be in Spence Cemetery followed by a white dove release.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Friday after 5pm.
