Darius Mccuiston Sr

Master Sgt. Darius Euel McCuiston, Sr., US Army Retired, age 90 of Dayton died Saturday morning November 17, 2012 in his home. Darius was born in Dayton on November 5, 1922 the son of the late George Newton McCuiston and Caroline (Youther) McCuiston. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, George, Sheloma, Alma, Thomas, Bertha, Alvin, Calie, Bessie, John, Miles, Clarence, Caleb and Theodore.
Darius retired from the US Army after serving during WWII, the Korean War and the Viet Nam War. During WWII he served in the European Theatre where he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Pearl (Tennyson) McCuiston of Dayton, four sons, Robert McCuiston, Jerry (Jennifer) McCuiston and Tony (Debby) McCuiston all of Dayton and Darius (LuAnn) McCuiston, Jr. of Soddy, daughter, Sue (Roger) Moore of Graysville and his eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A family graveside service with full military honors will be held Tuesday with burial following in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
