Corvin "Corky" Whitfield

Corvin Roylee “Corky” Whitfield age 92 of Dayton went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ early Sunday morning. She was born in Dayton on March 6, 1921 the daughter of the late Roy and Irene (Gossett) Whitfield.
Corky served her country as a First Lieutenant with the US Army as a registered nurse and later retired after a career in nursing. She lived most of her life in Dayton and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her cousins.

Funeral services with Military Honors for Corky will be held Monday evening at 6:00pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Leland Frazier officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her father in the Dayton City Cemetery Tuesday at 12noon.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Monday after 4:00pm.
