Clyde Theodore”Ted”Smith age 77 of Hixson, formerly of Dayton died Saturday April 1, 2006 in Erlanger Hospital. He was born in Rhea County August 31, 1928 the son of the late John Albert and Cordia Ann (Collins) Smith.
Ted served his country with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Rhea Central High and then received his Bachlor Degree at Tennessee Tech and then earned his Masters Degree at Peabody in Nashville. He lived in Dayton until 1992 when he moved to Hixson. He was a School Teacher and Guidance Counselor in Hamilton County for 43 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Anna Pat (Stanley) Cyrus of Hixson, granddaughter, Amber Ann (Greg) Barker of Soddy Daisy, his brother, Billy Frank Smith of Clarksville.
Funeral services for Ted will be held Tuesday at 3pm in the funeral home chapel with Chaplain John McCarty officiating. Burial will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens with full military honors.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Monday 5-8pm.
