Clyde Roy Caldwell Jr., age 74, of Soddy Daisy, formerly of Dayton, died Tuesday morning, April 3, 2018 at his home. He was born on May 30, 1943 in Shelbyville to the late Clyde R. Caldwell Sr. and Gladys (Drake) Caldwell.
Clyde was a long-time resident of Dayton and served his country with the US Navy. He was a member of Boilermakers Local 454 from 1966-2000, State Board of Boiler Rules 1989-2005, and retired as an International Union Representative/Organizer.
Clyde was a member of the Masonic Lodge #512 F & AM, a 32nd Degree Mason and in 2013 he served as the Worshipful Master. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite, a Shriner since 2004, and he was of the Baptist faith.
Clyde is survived by his wife Donna (Rappleye) Caldwell of Soddy Daisy, his five children: Sharon Ricketts of Lafayette, GA, Rev. Mike (Joyce) Teague of Ringgold, GA, Robert (Amy) Caldwell of Hixson, Darlene Myers of Rossville, GA and Elizabeth (fiancé Shannon Price) Caldwell of Lillian, AL; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Masonic Funeral Services with Military Honors for Clyde will be held Saturday at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Purser and Rev. Mike Teague officiating.
