Cleon Morris Schafer age 85 of Dayton died Tuesday October 31, 2006 in his home.
He was born September 10, 1921 in Coldwater, MI. the son of the late James and Edith (Markley) Schafer and was also preceded in death by his wife Bonnie (Frady) Schafer.
Cleon served his country with the US Army Air Corps during WWII and retired as a Mechanical Engineer working with commercial laundries. He lived in Dayton since 1987 and was a member of Graysville Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his two sons, James Schafer of Dayton and Marvin Schafer of Charlottesville, VA., his daughter, Edith McLean of Athens, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Cleon will be held Friday at 11am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Don Richards officiating. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens with full military honors.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Thursday 4-8pm.
