Cleo Harris Phillips, age 93, of Dayton died Tuesday evening, September 3, 2013 in her home. She was born October 30, 1919 in Cumberland County, TN to the late Callie and Nancy (Walker) Harris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Phillips, Sr.; her two sons, Ralph Lin Phillips and Franklin Lee Phillips; her two daughters, Cathryn Walker and Mary Sue Phillips, and her two sons-in-law, Billy Walker and Jimmy Walker.
A resident of Dayton most of her life, Cleo was a homemaker and loved to read her Bible. She was a member of Rhea County Independent Baptist Church.
Cleo is survived by her three sons, Richard Phillips, Jr., Raymond Phillips, and Roger Phillips; her daughter, Reba (Franklin) Sutton; her daughter-in-law, Janice Phillips, and eight grandchildren, all of Dayton.
Services for Cleo will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tom Herrell officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the City Cemetery.
