Charles Agnew Miles of Dayton age 64 died Saturday August 5, 2006 in Rhea Medical Center. He was born in Graysville October 23, 1941 the son of the late George and Margaret Ruth (Renfro) Miles.
He lived in Rhea County most of his life. He was a graduate of Rhea Central class of 1962. He served his country with the US Army and the Army National Guard for six years. Charles was a boilermaker with Austin Powers for 40 years in Chattanooga. He was a member of Rhea County Industrial Board and State Director for Boilermakers International. He served on The Tennessee State Board of Boilers twice. He was on the honorary staff of Gov. Blanton for hiring in Rhea County. Charles was a former member and chairman of The Rhea County Democratic Party. He was a member of Sale Creek Church of God.
He is survived by his wife Peggy (Lewis) Miles of Dayton, his son, Thomas Anthony Miles of Graysville, brother, Larry (Charlotte) Miles of Spring City and his sister, Donna (Jimmy( Smith) of Evensville, special great niece and nephew Casey Ariel McHugh of Dunlap and Aaron Brooks of Cleveland, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Charles will be held Monday at 11am in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Kenneth Bolton and Bishop Bob Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens with full military honors, followed by a white dove release.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Sunday 4-9pm
