Charles “Charlie” Ray Mitchell, age 77 of Graysville, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at his home. He was born in Dayton on January 11, 1945, the son of the late Boss and Elizabeth (Caraway) Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Albert Mitchell, and his sisters, Bessie Mitchell, Paralee McDonald and Virginia Suttles.
Charlie lived in Graysville for the past 32 years. He was a graduate of Rhea Central and worked as a maintenance supervisor at Oster Corporation and Fuji Hunt. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of Corvin Road Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Janice Faye (Gann) Mitchell; his children, Peggy (Wade) Yawn of Dayton, Christina (Paul) Bailey of Lynchburg, VA, Charlene Cochran of Kansas City, KS, Stephanie Hankins of Evensville, Adena (Roger) Walthers of Spring City; 13 grandchildren, his 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve James officiating. He will be laid to rest in Faith Garden at Buttram Cemetery.
