Cecil Crane, age 86 of Dayton died April 2, 2016 at his home. He was born June 5, 1929 in Bledsoe County to the late Arby and Elma (Hancock) Crane. He is also preceded in death by his wife Katherine Mildred (Colbaugh), Crane, brothers; Dale Crane, Eugene Crane, Douglas Crane and Leonard Crane, four sisters; Minnie Ruth Fann, Francis Morgan, Virginia Stevens and Nina Irons.
Cecil spent thirty-three years in Belleville, MI before moving to Dayton in 1987. He served in the Army from 1950-1952 and was wounded during the Korean War. Cecil worked at the United States Post Office for thirty-two years in Detroit, MI. He was a member of the American Legion Post 100 and a longtime member and former elder of the Dayton Church of Christ.
He is survived by his three daughters; Deborrah (Roger) Bentley of Dayton, Sharon Crane of Ann Arbor, MI, Kathy Crane of Florence, KY, two brothers Virgil (Ruth) Crane of Dayton and Auldin (Barbara) Crane of Dayton.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Minister Steve Brown officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton.
