Carrie McDonald Couch, age 82 of Dayton, died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. Carrie was born in Evensville on July 20, 1925 the daughter of the late Jim and Laurie (Beaver) McDonald. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Couch, two sons, Francis Couch and Bill Couch, three brothers, Bill McDonald, JT McDonald and Estel McDonald, two grandchildren, Michael Byrd and Kenny Brooks.
Carrie was a life long resident of Rhea County where she was a homemaker and of the Church of God faith.
She is survived by her children, Marion Couch, Jimmy Couch, Ed Couch, Rheda Brooks, all of Dayton, Kathy Hixson and Bea Nation both of Pikeville, Ruth Googe of Rome, GA and Diane Graham of Sale Creek; brother, Kelso McDonald of Spring City, two sisters, Rosie Pritchett of Spring City and Mary McDonald of Dayton; 27 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Carrie will be held Wednesday afternoon at 4:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Johnny Burton officiating. Burial will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Monday after 6:00pm and all day Tuesday
