Carolyn Fay Shell, age 65, of Graysville, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 8, 2021 in Grandview. She was born in Dayton on August 6, 1955, the daughter of the late George Smith and Leila Jean (Creasman) Smith. Fay was also preceded in death by her grandson, Dakota Pugh and her sister, Betty Jo Smitherman.
Fay lived in Graysville all of her life. She was a Rhea County high school graduate class of 1974. Fay liked to draw and play cards (rummy), but most of all she loved spending time with her family and her grand kids.
She is survived by her sons, Jason Shell, Steven (Stephanie) Shell both of Dayton and Josh (Sarah Tennyson) Shell of Graysville; her daughters, Amy (Farley Branham) Rector of Grandview and Maggie Shell of Dayton; 13 grandchildren, Kaitlyn Gadd, Deannrea Shell, Angel Holloway, Austin Pugh, Dylan Pugh, Ashley Shell, Sara Shell, Megan Shell, Molly Calbough, Cash Calbough, Ethan Shell, Nathan Shell, and Emma Neal; three great-grandchildren; and her ex-husband, Rodney (Gay Shipley) Shell of Dayton.
Funeral services for Fay will be held Friday, June 11, 2021 at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Fields and Rodney Shell officiating. She will be laid to rest at Rhea Memory Gardens next to her parents, followed by a white dove release.
