Carolyn Inez Jordan, age 64 of Dayton went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at her home on Monday, June 08, 2009. Carol was born in Panama City, FL on January 7, 1945 the daughter of the late NB and Bernice (Owen) Horne. She was also preceded in death by two brothers.
Carol was raised in Panama City and it was there that she met her husband Ed while he was stationed at the Tyndall AFB. They married in 1961 and then made their home in Dayton since 1966.
Carol retired from the Rhea County School food services. She loved watercolor painting and all sorts of crafting and was a member of the Dayton Arts League. Carol was an active member of First Baptist Church where she was in the choir, “Sonshiners”, Senior Ministry program and the Shepherds for Christ Sunday School class.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Edward R. Jordan of Dayton, two sons, Robert (Tanya) Jordan of Dayton and Patrick (Lynette) Jordan of Chattanooga, three grandchildren, Brittany Jordan, Bailey Jordan and Alex Phillips, all of Dayton, two sisters, Marilyn (Ron) Rosenbaum of Jamestown and Sherl (Art) Morden of Panama City, FL, brother, Richard (Leona) Horne of Fountain, FL, sister-in-law, Ginger Jordan and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Carol will be held in the funeral home chapel Wednesday evening at 8:00pm with her pastor, Rev. Milton Knox officiating. Graveside services will be held Thursday morning at 11:00am in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Wednesday after 5:00pm.
