Burtis Leon Walden

Burtis Leon Walden, age 83 of Dayton, died Wednesday October 6, 2010 at Parkridge Hospital in Chattanooga. He was born on October 31, 1926 in Blytheville, AR to the late Burtis and Edith (Davis) Walden. A resident of Dayton since 1974, Leon was a retired school administrator in Texas. He attended the Sale Creek Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Winnie (Goodson) Walden of Dayton, daughter Debra Burgess of Dayton, son Benjamin Walden of Port St. Lucie, FL, grandsons Eric Walden and Jeff Burgess, both of Dayton and Rusty Walden of Port St. Lucie, FL, granddaughters Tiffany Parson and Melissa Price, both of Dayton, Shera Gill of Sheppard AFB, TX, and Michelle Bromstrom of Port St. Lucie, FL and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Leon will be held Sunday at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Don Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Rhea Memory Gardens with Rev. Terry Bolton officiating.
