Oliver “Buck” Dudley Harris, age 63 of Dayton died Thursday, January 10, 2008 at his home. He was born April 6, 1944 in Cumberland County, TN, the son of James Dudley Harris and the late Gladiola (Dooley) Harris.
Buck served his country with the U.S. Navy and made his living logging. He was a member of Hilltop Baptist Church.
Buck is survived by his wife Nettie Ruth (Swafford) Harris of Dayton, his father James Dudley Harris, sisters Genomia Harris and Jackie Loden, all of Spring City,TN, five step-children, Bobby (Mary) Swafford, Donald (Yvonne) Swafford, Betty (Gary) Stinnett, JoAnn (Tim) Harris, Kathy (Donnie) Young, all of Dayton, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews..
Funeral services for Buck will be held Saturday, January 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rick Kirkland and Rev. Stanley Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Spence Cemetery.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Friday after 5:00 pm.
