Brenda E. Hill, age 79, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024. She was born on June 30,1944 in Dayton to the late Buzz Wilkey and Bobbie (Neil) Roddy. She was also preceded in death by her husband Paul Hill, granddaughter, Lexee Blair Hill, and her sister, Debra Crook.
Brenda grew up, worked, and raised her family in Dayton, TN. She worked for more than 25 years at the Dayton Housing Authority was and a member of New Union Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Rhea Central Class of '61. Paul and Brenda loved to travel. Brenda was 59 when she, Paul, Stacey and Sherri went skydiving to celebrate Stacey's birthday. They went to Hawaii where they drove to the top of a volcano to watch the sunrise and rode bikes down to the beach. They explored Alaska where Brenda cooked salmon over an open fire. They rode their prize possession a Harley Davidson with dear friends. They traveled out west where they enjoyed a rodeo and also went to Boston to see the sites. They went on several cruises and many trips to the beach with so many wonderful friends! She loved her church family and adored the Sunday School class she was a part of. She opened her home to all of our family and friends for our kids to learn how to swim and our friends' kids to swim. Brenda dedicated her entire life to following her husband, children, and grandchildren to sporting events and performances all over.
She is survived by her son Stacey (Michelle) Hill of Dayton; daughter, Sherri Henderson of Sevierville; grandchildren Ashton Hill of Dayton, Ansley (Braxton) Hubbard of Crozier, VA, and Jace Henderson and Emree Henderson, both of Sevierville; sister Marsha (Andy) Hood of Dayton.
Funeral services for Brenda will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Danny Ruehling and Rev. Jeremy Deal officiating. Brenda will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens.
