Bobby Leon Long

Bobby Leon Long, age 71 of Hixson died at his home Saturday, July 25, 2009. Bobby was born in Soddy on July 14, 1938 the son of the late David “Doug” and Bertie (Iles) Long and was also preceded in death by his wife, Lenora (Colbaugh) Long.

Bobby was a graduate of the Sale Creek High School and had lived in the Middle Valley-Hixson area for the past 42 years. He served his country with the US Army and had been employed as a diesel mechanic and then worked for Hamilton County until his retirement. He was a member of the Calvary Independent Baptist Church in Hixson.

Bobby is survived by his nephew, Robert (Tessa) Long, great-nephew, Brian Long and his brother-in-law Hoyt Colbaugh all of Harrison.

Funeral services for Bobby will be held Monday evening at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with his pastor, Rev. Donald Kelley officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00am in Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton.
