Ruth Irene “Bobbie” Roddy age 83 of Dayton, died May 4, 2007 in the Rhea County Nursing Home. She was born in Battle Creek, MI on July 17, 1923, the daughter of the late Arnold and Grace (Carney) Byrd. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Debra Crook.
Bobbie lived in Rhea County most of her life where she retired after 45 years as a seamstress for Robinson’s Manufacturing Company. She loved sewing and was a member of the Old Washington Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years Neil Roddy of Dayton, two daughters, Brenda Hill and Marsha Hood both of Dayton, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Bobbie will be held Monday at 11am in the funeral home chapel
with Rev. Rusty Revis officiating. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Sunday 4-8pm
